Country Crossroads Counseling
A little bit about Richelle Stillwell, LPC . . .
A TF-CBT and EMDR counselor
Hello, my name is Richelle Stillwell. Thank you for taking the time to visit Country Crossroads Counseling website! I appreciate the time you have given to read about our different counselors. We all have such different strengths and styles, and I am certain that one of us would be a great fit for you.
I am a graduate of Walden University where I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Trauma and Crisis. I am trained in TF-CBT and EMDR. I have additional certification as a family trauma professional (CFTP) and as a certified complex trauma professional. Prior to obtaining my LPC in 2017, I provided Pastoral Counseling for three years.
I am a huge believer in giving back to the community. Over the years, I have volunteered my counseling services in urban community settings as well as organizations providing relief to survivors of human trafficking. I have provided trauma informed training to school teachers and personnel as well as hospital doctors and staff. Although I have a particular passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma in their life, specializing in trauma has also served to enhance my skill and comfortability tackling the other challenges that life sometimes brings. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults work through their struggles to find hope and healing. I am confident that together, we can identify goals and solutions that will address your unique needs and abilities.
My primary theoretical approach is cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy. However, I have firm roots in solution focused therapy as well as a person-centered approach. I believe that each of us have the capacity to make great change in our lives when given the right level of support and workable tools to equip us in our specific challenges. I look forward to getting to know you and finding out how I can support you in achieving your goals!
In addition to being a counselor, I am also a wife and mother of four. Most of my time is spent with my family and cheering from the sidelines in my kid’s sports. I am an animal lover by nature and I find that living in the city really puts a damper on my ability to adopt every stray I come across!
