A little bit about Sarah . . .

Sarah Kirby-Russell

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with five years of experience supporting children and families in educational settings and two years of counseling experience at Country Crossroads Counseling. I specialize in AutPlay® Therapy and believe that play is the pathway to healing—a natural way for children (and even adults) to express, process, and make sense of their innermost thoughts and feelings.

My goal as a counselor is to create a safe, supportive environment where children and families can develop healthy coping skills to navigate challenges such as trauma, neurodivergence, low self-esteem, grief, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns. I also partner closely with parents and caregivers, offering practical strategies to support their child’s growth and healing both in and outside of sessions.

When I’m not counseling, I love spending time with my family on our farm, attending sporting events, and traveling. I also enjoy gardening, reading, and caring for my two dogs, Annie and Moose, who are always ready to chase squirrels or give snuggles. Counseling is not just my career—it’s my passion, and I feel truly grateful to walk alongside others on their journey toward healing and growth.
