A little bit about Todd . . .

I want to thank you for taking the time to check out the Country Crossroads Counseling website and to take a moment to invest in yourself or assist someone special to you in looking into the benefits of counseling.

My name is Todd Kolenda and I have had the privilege of working as a therapist for the past 24 years. Over that time I have learned that no matter what the past has been it is possible to heal and grow into a great future. Sometimes that takes someone to talk to who will listen to where you are in your life at the present moment.

I earned a Masters Degree in Counseling in 2001 from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. I obtained my LPC State Licensure in 2003. My theoretical  approaches consist primarily of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (trauma treatment) and DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy).  I assist with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents ranging in age from 4 to 80+. One of my main focuses is working with individuals who have experienced trauma and helping them find relief from the impact that trauma causes on life.

Personally I am a father and grandfather however, that doesn’t mean I am old! I am a man of family, faith and friendships as the cornerstones of my life. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and doing a variety of outdoor activities as well as both watching and participating in sports. Reading is another hobby of mine as I believe it is an important part of continued growth and learning, as well as a great way to relax.

I believe that therapy can bring hope and positive change if we are willing to work towards it. I look forward to the possibility of meeting and working with you to take the next steps on your journey into a better future!
